The Culinary World

Remember the exclusive that was mentioned in our previous post, we are kicking off today, I'm here with one of the Prettiest Ceo we met on the ride down this exclusive.

INTRODUCTION

Welcome to this platform, I'm Bsorlah for Where Pen Speaks please kindly introduce yourself.



Hi, it's a pleasure to be here. I'm Faith Ombu popularly known as Kebi. I'm from Bayelsa state,Ijaw by tribe. I'm a graduate of the University of Abuja where I studied Physics Education. I also did a professional course in Culinary and Pastry Art in Chefs Academy.
I'm the CEO Palakebi's Empire.




Wow, that's a well calculated introduction and am trying not to get ahead of myself. So tell me Empire, sounds big what's it about?

THE CULINARY WORLD

Thanks.. Yeh it's actually very big. Palakebi's Empire is a catering Empire that evolves around the culinary world. It entails hotel and restaurant services, catering school including online classes, outdoor catering services etc... We aim at leaving our clients with a lasting experience that will always leave them connected to us.
And it's an Empire that will keep expanding beyond just this things mentioned above.


I must say you got my attention earlier when you said you had a Bsc degree and also a Catering degree, I will like to know was this as a result of a childhood dream or what?
I mean what's the drive for such pursuit?


Hmmm..it wasn't a childhood dream. As a matter of fact I never saw myself in the culinary world. I believe we humans can only plan our lives but God approves and even expands it more than we ever thought of as long as we're flexible to His own plans.
The passion for the culinary world developed in my 3rd year in school when I was given a welfare position in my fellowship back then.
And in this our generation, handiwork is the best along side your degree..


You can say that again, Handiwork is really needed. Well i can tell you are a smart lady,  you just always end your statement relating to my next question.

WHY YOU SHOULD CHOOSE THE CULINARY WORLD.

OK let's get down to the business of the day.
You are a young Ceo and you are certainly making it big, my readers and i would love to know certain things as youths in this our generation what makes this field( culinary world )a career option and how do we go about it? please educate us.






Thanks for your compliments. The culinary world is one aspect of life you can't do without either career wise or even personally. You can't live without food or hospitality.  Financially, you can never really get stuck in the culinary world because we have events everyday and weddings every weekends. If you have the right connection and you give your work an extraordinary touch you will never lack clients. It also cuts down to family,adding a good flavour in your home too which makes it better.

So, you are saying this Field is beneficial financially and personally. Hmmm tell me how do I even go about it?

Yes it is...Most importantly you must grow in order to either start and succeed, in this field PASSION is a major key. If you're not passionate about it you could end up being frustrated because you will need a lot of patience and you can only get it as long as you're passionate about your field. Also, as they say"charity begins at home" You could start from your home and those around. Start by making the usual dishes around you and serve it with love for your family and friends,you really don't know who will recommend you to someone and you will be given a  greater platform. Also, the kitchen is your laboratory. You are free to creatively experiment things and from there create your recipe that gives you your special flavour that differentiates you in an extraordinary from others because there are so many people in the field too. We are in a generation that apart from people knowing you are good, they also need to see proof and a certificate to show for it. It's really advisable you enroll in a culinary school for advanced knowledge and skills and for the certificate too.


Some people do not want to know how good you are until they know where you've been.






I must say your last statement strikes me hard.
So ma, I believe every reader who might be interested in this field has noticed that a lot of other people are into this too, please tell us how then do we cope competitively?



As I said in my previous response about your kitchen being your laboratory, you must be ready to creatively experiment new things that gives your brand a unique flavour different from the normal. Now that's what will help you a lot because if I'm used to eating just a particular style of rice,and someone introduces an extra touch to it and sells to me, trust me I'll go for the extra touch. Secondly,in as much as most people are after the profit,to stand out you should be after leaving a lasting experience in your clients head and you will have a flow of traffic in your business.











Wow so I take it the keys to standing out are, Creativity, Uniqueness and quality.
Asking you where your Empire will be in few years after hearing you speak is absolutely in appropriate.
So please you already caught my attention and I want to learn certain things in this Area, Does your Empire offer training? And how do we reach you?

Am sure you know Nigerians, we always love a head start for most things, I love to eat rice and stew/sauce but its getting tiring having it same every time from your experience in this profession, how can i spice that up?

RICE AND SAUCE RECIPE

In spicing up your rice and stew, you can incorporate veggies into your stew,it makes the food even more healthy.
 For the stew or sauce:
Put a little quantity of oil,when it's hot,
Put your chopped onions,garlic&ginger,
allow to fry a little
Add your fresh tomatoes and pepper and allow to fry.
When your tomatoes is fried add your minced meat and leave for 15mins,add sausages and your spices,
Then lastly add your veggies(green pepper,carrots,spring onions,green peas, cabbage),
leave to cook for 8mins.
Correct seasoning and then remove from heat.
Serve with your white rice.
