The Nigerian Army

As brave and selfless as a soldier in character and expression of the heart is what every organization wants to see in a staff.

When we hear the word soldiers we think of solution and bravery.
Nigeria as a country is blessed with selfless and brave, men and women in the Nigerian Army (NA).

History dates the Nigerian Army to 1863 from Lt Glover of the Royal Navy till this present time.

The Nigerian Army is said to be a Land branch of the Nigerian Armed forces with major divisions formed, to mention few divisions,  1st Division, 2nd Division and the newly formed 7th division.

Few historical achievement of the Nigerian army,
-Creation of state
-Introduction of of Naria and Kobo
-Launching the Nigerian Youth Service Corps (NYSC).


The Nigerian Army has a stand in the country, and still doing all they can with the current
Chief of Army staff.

   The Nigerian Army is what comes to mind at mention of defending the country's interest, when in despair beyond control, not backing out on the motto of the Nigerian Army :   Victory comes from God alone.

And indeed as citizens we do our part to support as much as we can, in prayers and appreciation.                                                                                                                                                     

Truth Thursday

Yesterday the 11th October, a lot of people came all emotional about the girl child day, some institutions hosted walks(rally) in the celebration of the day in creating awareness, even the "women beaters" said happy international girl child day let's keep empowering our girls ( how sad).

OK straight up this morning, let's have real talk.
The key to empowering a child(boy/girl) isn't in a one day encouragement speech or rally, the no to abuse isn't in a one day awareness, the idea of no girl education still exist very strongly.
And of course ( *smiling* )we are all back to our daily activity like yesterday was just yesterday.
*Aunty*, slay queen your friend who u told happy girl child day, got a slap as good night last night and you have known this for how long now.
Brother your G (*in the context your guy*)told u how he got abused and you are smiling that he is enjoying the sex jor.
Set the pace.
Both Gender needs to get it right, its not a one day thing, help someone around you get better, let them know about
Health Education
HIV prevention
*Healthy* relationships
Don't wait for that one day tag, to say the best things about someone, you don't have to be in Government to empower someone.

You can do better.

This is to us all, we need to do better because we can do better.

We all want to be happy and fulfilled. Although, we often demand too much of life. We set strict criteria for what will make us happy. When those criteria are not met, we develop attitude that keeps us stuck. The most basic, most revealing question you can ask yourself is

*what* *does* *it* *take* *to* *make* *me* *happy*?

• Do you have to be happy every minute of every day?
•Does everyone have to do what you want them to do?
•Does every aspect of your work have to be fulfilled all the time?
•Do you need more power than everyone else?
•Do you have to be recognized and rewarded for everything you do?
•Do you have to be loved by everyone you know?

 Talking about this question's that came to mind. Have you ever given a deep thought towards the happiness you want for yourself? The way you might come about it and the way it affects your inmate.

  What you should know about the happiness you want towards the relationship you keep with people is :
 Not everyone is perfectly neat,beautiful,charming,loving,funny, or attentive all the time.

Maya Angelou (RIP) was so deep fam. I didn't get this quote at first and was about to write it off as fake-deep but then I saw it was Maya Angelou and so I did a double take.


Truth is that most people do not realise the amount of courage a person with aspirations, ambitions or just plain dreams of living a good life needs on a daily.


It takes courage to be real. You need courage to take that right decision, to kick that wrong habit, take that first step towards actualizing your dreams, to be that better person, to render help at the cost of a personal sacrifice or simply to learn how to swim, drive or play an instrument.


It takes courage to change. A habit maybe. Or an attitude. Change may be the only constant thing in life but human beings can be really resistant to change. Even when we know it's for the best. Sometimes, especially when we know it's for the best.


It's just so easy to slack, to resist progress. It's crazy when you think about this. You may have all the motivation in the world to make that decision you know would be best but there's always that voice whispering "Why bother?" It's always there asking why you're killing yourself when you simply relax and let life take care of itself. Happens to the best of us.


That voice may be fear, nonchalance, procrastination or laziness. May even be your village people (kidding, not kidding). According to Mark Twain, courage is not the absence of these. Courage is a resistance to that voice.

 Courage is a stand.

WHAT HE SAID TO ME 1

I sat up on my bed just as the great aroma crept into my nostrils to disrupt my sleep and yes…
it was breakfast served in bed. When we were done eating, we held hands and prayed, and then he got up to leave for work.
As a youth I had great passion for making impact, so life as a married career woman was just what I expected, though it was not as hectic as I thought.

I got back home early and prepared dinner. When he got back, we both ate and went to bed. At 2a.m, we got up and prayed for  hours. Deep down in my heart as I laid down to sleep, I was happy with what my marriage turned out to be. I waited anxiously for morning to come because the way each day went by gave me joy.

I woke up the next day but this time, I was saddened when I realized it had all been a dream. I had spent my night dreaming and fantasizing about my ex whom I “loved” and hoped he would change to become that man of my dreams…the right man for me and my purpose.

So I thought, “why not talk to him today since he really wanted this relationship to work again?”

Here we are having lunch and he began with the tale of how sorry he was and why things didn't work out. He was beginning to get to me with those words…especially how he said them. And finally he said "Back then, we were amateurs and we didn't really know what we wanted". At that very moment, the words settled in my heart and I realized he was right. Now that I’m more matured, the vision is quite bigger and he just doesn't fit in anymore. But what do I do with all this feelings and affection for him?

The Little Drops

It's worth reading.

Recently, when I was going to bed after using my bathroom, I started hearing sound of drops of water from the tap in slow successions, but since it was dropping into an empty bucket, I decided to let it be.

But, alas! When I woke up the next morning, around 5am, the bucket was almost full! I was surprised that just drops even in such slow successions could produce that much. I couldn't help it, 'Just drops?!' I questioned rhetorically.

But the following night, I made sure that the tap in my bathroom was locked completely and I checked the bucket and saw that it was empty, though wet. Then I went to sleep.

I guess you already know what I saw the next morning. The bucket was not wet as I had left it, but it was now dry!

Then I realized the importance of a drop and how much difference it can make in all ramifications of one's life compared to a dry tap.

Imagine letting the drops be for a year, I would be scooping with drums at the end of the year!

● So, how about that drop of savings?

● How about that drop of kindness and love everyday?

● How about a drop of reading useful books today and every day?

● How about that drop of a verse of the scripture today and every day?

● How about that drop of prayer today and every day?

● How about a drop of worship today and every day?

● How about a drop of step towards your God-given dream today and every day?

● How about a drop of giving into your heavenly account?

● What virtue and discipline will you start today in little drops?

★ Never neglect the importance of a drop, for when the harvest time comes, you would have made a big difference.

We are the leaders of tomorrow that's what they told us so we kept our hopes and heads up high.

Education is the key was the *Ginja*(motivation) that pushed us to get into the higher institutions.

We built dreams based on the ideologies we grew to constantly hear.

We didn't know it took hardwork and that the saying "You are the leaders of tomorrow" was just a mirage to push us to be better.

This is to every youth out there,waiting to get a job, on a journey to acquire that Degree, to that youth waiting to gain admission, don't you ever think it ends at education.

For some youths those childhood dreams seems as fantasy now.
Those aspirations we woke up to.
The imagination we had of what today would be from yesterday all closed like an epilogue from a novel.

This is to everyone trying to achieve something good.
To every one who at some point have been told you can't.
That dream chaser people tell that  he/she is wasting his/her time on what he/she is doing.

Beyond Education is the need for Hardwork and the need for Intelligence (Smartness).

Education + Hardwork  + Smartness = Smartwork
This births great results.

Therefore
Don't give up.
Don't lose hope.
This struggle and hustle to be great, is gonna pay .

I Can Do All Bad Myself.

Hey guys, let's state the fact.
I can do bad or Good myself, don't go blaming either on anyone.

You see I can totally understand when you blame a mother for the fact that her 10year old child can't sweep or do house chores.
But it won't make so much sense to go blaming a mother for her 19year old who still can't do a thing.

This is one of the direct piece I'm gonna be writing.

The truth is people will advice you, suggest to you what to do but its your decision to do as they say or not.
You are the decision maker of your life.
Don't go pushing blames on others,  you won't move ahead doing that,  rather you should take charge of your life.

Ensure you get the best out of it, forget who told you not to, forget who told you its only going to remain a dream, forget who said your vision for life is only but a fantasy, put behind the thought of where and how to start or go about your goals.
Someone once said the only way to start is to start.
Take that decision that's gonna change your life for good today,  and we will see at the Top where we all belong.

Yea, l'm in the fashion industry, Sophire_bleu is the brand name and it started in 2014, women clothings and kids wear (both gender), bespoke and ready to wear outfits and we expanding into bridal wears too.



So you have been into fashion designing for two (2) years now, tell me how did it all start up?

*smiles * let me say it's being more than two (2) years (laughing),  but I never took it serious not until a competition came up and a friend (Dave) told me about it and encouraged me to participate and that was when I realised my first look book😊.

Wow you have a look book,What does it entail? you see I really know little about fashion. 

Yeah...some few designs...😊

 Well, one really needs to know what's trending, be updated in the fashion world , understand color and how it works , be skilled , being versatile. .. because outfit speak.

Most importantly... having an idea of what you want to bring, time reality matters.... that's where sketching comes in, rough or perfect sketch it always helps... make the work pretty easy.

I forgot to mention earlier i'm fashion illustrator....which is a hobby 😆

Awesome, But what you are saying is someone who doesn't know much about fashion can't get into fashion?

If someone with less knowledge about fashion wants to go into fashion designing there won't be a problem, the fact the person has decided to,  it means there's  an interest which brings about passion; and there is nothing one can't achieve when there is passion with more or less knowledge about passion, everyone learn everyday...so someone with less knowledge of fashion can sure go into fashion designing.

But will need more opening to learn right?

Certainly, Register for  fashion classes in any fashion institutions around were he or she knows she can the knowledge. .. education is key in  everything

As you know the aim is to let youth have a reason they can go into fashion designing, at this point the floor is yours please give the readers a convinced reason for your field and how to go about it?

As I said earlier it all begins with passion,  fashion designing is the type of business anyone will excel in and enjoy whether you want to make it  a profession or a hobby.. that's always an excitement when you make something from nothing whether it's an old cloth you want to rebrand or a new one.

Formal education is necessary both mistakes we make as youths is to depend 100% on it...ain't cool...

Trust me someone with fashion designing skill always have an edge over his or her friends ..c'on it's cloths...and we rock them every day

Fashion designing is super profitable

You are making so much sense hmmm.

But is it Stress free...no😀

So to say. ..nothing good comes easy...

So...anyone who's interested in fashion designing.

Things you will certainly need.

●register for fashion classes

●buy a sewing machine

●scissor and measuring tape

●drawing book... to enable you sketch out ideas of the designs you want to create.

Practice and keep practising till perfection ☺.

Downsize your ego...please you can learn from anybody... no matter where...don't mind the environment

No to Abuse

Left right, left right, up down
I tossed from the bed, down to the couch, till I landed on the floor.

Was it the way I treated him, was it the way I eagerly ran errands for him, or the manner at which i accorded him with so much respect, was it really something I did?

He was meant to be my uncle, I trusted him, my parents believed in him, my guard was covered when am with him, we all believed cause he was my shield.

It really couldn't have been because he watched me grow, after all he warned me about boys but here I am in the river flowing with my own tears.

My Hymen is broken against my will, via violence , where do I place my confidence, who do i trust , is the devil really a spirit wandering around or the one that dwells in a man the moment he takes from us forcefully what he shouldn't.

Abused, ashamed and brought so low I wonder what could have been the reason, it's certainly not the long gown mum always had me wear.

Betrayed by trust, set loose violently,  I didn't ask for this, where then do I go.

What's gonna happen, i've been abused by who was meant to be family, what more is dangerous.

Can't keep quiet, No way,  this is wrong.

Don't hurt that young girl, that pretty lady wrongly,  you tamper with her Self-Worth and Confidence for a lifetime for your 5minutes pleasure.

#No to any form of Violence
