Resolution Tingi

When I began to see personal messages, display
pictures, and status updates with  messages as such,  "its almost time for that new year, new me", "I'm gonna be dumping some people
this year", etc, my attention was caught, my heart is drawn and my pen suddenly became inseparable from my paper.
Then I asked myself what the ideology behind a resolution is.

Join me on this journey as I share my ideology.
Just for clarity sake, a resolution is said to be a firm decision to do or
not to do something. I.e., the act of solving a problem or contentions matter'.

Asides from the above definition,  I choose to see a
resolution as 'the act/ decision to either change or
advance in/on certain things/areas.

On this basis, let me do a throwback.
Two years ago (2012), I told myself I would avoid doing certain things. Only a week into the new
year, I had done the same things over and again.
Strangely, I changed and advanced in those things that needed change, but left them pending.

I realized that for a resolution to fall in place, some things have to be understood, and there has to be a willingness to carry them out.

1) The prize attached to the advancement you require: This is the point where you consider your
gain or loss as a result of executing that thing on your list.

2) The sacrifice to pay for letting go: Here, you feel hurt and you miss that part of you that you need to let go of. Like they say, "No pain, No Gain".

3) The things on your list have to be very important to you:  When everything is on your list
matters so much to you, it doesn't matter the pain you feel,  you just want to work it out and right.

So to have a resolution is not a bad thing at all.  It all depends on how you see it, and your readiness
to make it work.

It is said that "whatever we set our minds to achieve, we achieve".

You can make a resolution at any point and time of the year,  so make your list and see it through.
Nothing is impossible!!
