National Cake.

Wow its my birthday and I figured since the Rice couldn't go round let's share my thoughts together *smiles*

Here I am, its a new year for me  and I'm excited about it but then it got me thinking about a whole lot.

What's the difference in me the year before and now, what has changed and what will change?

So I concluded;
It isn't about how many birthdays we get to celebrate, the cakes, people, calls or text messages its actually about GROWTH!!!

Are you making impact?
Are you being productive?
What have you achieved ?
How far have you gone?
What are you doing with your God-given Purpose?

Its a short piece from me to you. Let Impact be our drive.
Xoxo

Happy birthday to me.

Resolution Tingi

When I began to see personal messages, display
pictures, and status updates with  messages as such,  "its almost time for that new year, new me", "I'm gonna be dumping some people
this year", etc, my attention was caught, my heart is drawn and my pen suddenly became inseparable from my paper.
Then I asked myself what the ideology behind a resolution is.

Join me on this journey as I share my ideology.
Just for clarity sake, a resolution is said to be a firm decision to do or
not to do something. I.e., the act of solving a problem or contentions matter'.

Asides from the above definition,  I choose to see a
resolution as 'the act/ decision to either change or
advance in/on certain things/areas.

On this basis, let me do a throwback.
Two years ago (2012), I told myself I would avoid doing certain things. Only a week into the new
year, I had done the same things over and again.
Strangely, I changed and advanced in those things that needed change, but left them pending.

I realized that for a resolution to fall in place, some things have to be understood, and there has to be a willingness to carry them out.

1) The prize attached to the advancement you require: This is the point where you consider your
gain or loss as a result of executing that thing on your list.

2) The sacrifice to pay for letting go: Here, you feel hurt and you miss that part of you that you need to let go of. Like they say, "No pain, No Gain".

3) The things on your list have to be very important to you:  When everything is on your list
matters so much to you, it doesn't matter the pain you feel,  you just want to work it out and right.

So to have a resolution is not a bad thing at all.  It all depends on how you see it, and your readiness
to make it work.

It is said that "whatever we set our minds to achieve, we achieve".

You can make a resolution at any point and time of the year,  so make your list and see it through.
Nothing is impossible!!

Everyday Christmas

Its no  news that 25th December is Christmas
day, but then
I want to bring to your notice “Everyday
Christmas” join me as I
explain further.
When Christ died for our sins am sure he didn't
pick a date to die
neither did he figure the timing on earth cause it
is written a day in
our sight is like a year in the sight God so I
presume its doesn't
appear as 25th to him but to us.
Christmas is a everyday celebration in the life of
every christian, we
enjoy the benefits of his birth and death
(Salvation) on daily basis,
so the celebration isn't a one day thing its
something that is a part
of us and a continuous season in the life of every
christian.
Sharing and showing love to people isn't just a
  Christmasthing LOVE
is God, Giving and Love are the standard way of
life for every
christian, His Love has brought us all thus far so
we shouldn't make
it seasonal it's  like living on without our breathe,
yea am also
wondering how that works.
Just as He doesn't choose when to forgive us and
when not to, we
therefore should not accustom appreciating Him
or living Christ-like
to a one day thing.
Bottom line is Christ remains the reason for the
season but then the
season isn't just 25th December, its the fact that
he came and died
for your sins and you accepted him as Lord “HE is
the Reason but you
are the Season”.
Stop acting start living Christmas

Christmas Rice.

Ever since I understood that 25th December was
Christmas, I always wondered why we had to do
so much cooking just for Christmas because it
was always stressful and tiring.
From the 20th of December everyone begins to
shop for Christmas wears, lots of people start
thinking of Christmas hairdos, and we begin to
hear about carols, carnivals and lots more.
Its at this season most people remember the
popular slogan "there is love in sharing, show love
to someone" etc. This is funny though because
after 25th, their status, display pictures, and
personal messages begin to change.
This is also the period when parents start to
consider hanging out with their children, but
then let's reason together.
PICTURE THIS:
Kemi only brings food to my compound 25th of
every December. She smiles at me and greets
me, but when we run into each other 29th of
December on the street, she acts as though
we've never met before and I'm always like
"what's that all about?".
If Christmas is all about sharing and as we agreed
in the previous post, then its time to "start living
and stop acting Christmas". In other words,
"please stop pretending you care because its
Christmas and start showing and actually learning
to care for others". Remember, GOD IS LOVE.
So basically, when we start living Christmas, love
and giving is the 1st fruit of such obedience;
therefore we automatically start to care for
people.
And yes you can love everyone, after all God has
shed his love abroad in our hearts.
Remember - The Greatest of all commandments is
LOVE.
